Income Support | You may be able to get income support if you meet all the eligibility criteria. Income Support is being replaced by Universal Credit and most new claims in Scotland will be for this. |
Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit | You might get Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB) if you’re ill or disabled: from an accident or disease caused by work while you were on an approved employment training scheme or course The amount you may get depends on your individual circumstances. |

Pension Credit | Pension Credit is an income-related benefit made up of 2 parts - Guarantee Credit and Savings Credit. Guarantee Credit tops up your weekly income if it’s below £167.25 (for single people) or £255.25 (for couples). |
Personal Independence Payment (PIP) | Personal Independence Payment (PIP) helps with some of the extra costs caused by long-term ill-health or a disability if you’re aged 16 to State Pension Age. |
Scottish Welfare Fund | The Scottish Welfare Fund is a discretionary scheme we deliver that provides two types of grant: Community Care Grants and Crisis Grants. |
State Pension | The basic State Pension is a regular payment from the government that you can get when you reach state pension age. To get it you must have paid or been credited with National Insurance contributions. |
Universal Credit | Universal Credit replaces Income Support, Income Related Jobseekers Allowance, Income Related Employment and Support Allowance, Housing Benefit and Tax Credits. It is fully rolled out in Scotland so most new claims for means tested benefits are for Universal Credit. |
